HENDERSON, N.C. — Police are looking for the person responsible for shooting a 15-year-old boy as he walked down a Henderson street Sunday afternoon.

Investigators said the teen, identified as Sandtonio Knott Jr., and two other teens were walking on the sidewalk on East Rock Spring Street at about 1:15 p.m. when the shooting occurred.

Witnesses reported hearing four or five gunshots and then saw Knott fall to the ground and yell for help.

"I was so scared today. I don't even want my kids outside, as of right now," said Kenyetta Williams, who lives nearby. "That was real scary for that to happen right here at my home with kids in my home."

Knott was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his upper shoulder, police said. He was listed in stable condition Sunday evening.

Police have found a vehicle that they think might have been involved in the shooting. Anyone with information about the case should call Crime Stoppers at 252-492-1925 or the Henderson Police Department at 252-438-4141.
