Police are investigating the death of a Henderson man found shot at Arch Street and Chavasse Avenue early Sunday.

<b>HENDERSON, N.C.</b> — Police are investigating the death of a Henderson man found shot at Arch Street and Chavasse Avenue early Sunday.

Officers responding to calls about gunfire around 3 a.m. found Corey Bullock, 27, lying face down on the side of the road. Bullock was suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at a local hospital, police said.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about it should call police at 252-438-4141 or Crime Stoppers at 252-492-1925. All tips will be kept confidential.

According to the Sampson County Sheriff's Office, a school resource officer discovered the body of a man inside a vehicle at Hobbton Middle School athletic field. Authorities believe the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
