Police surrounded America's Best Value Inn in Henderson after a shooting Sunday.

— Henderson police want to talk to Brooks Montel Jones, 19, about a June 14 shootout at America’s Best Value Inn at 200 Parham Road.

Jones is a person of interest and the investigation is ongoing, police said Thursday. They described Jones as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 195 pounds.

Police responded to a shooting at about 2 a.m. Sunday at the hotel. Officers found the body of David Hicks, 22, of Dick Faines Road. He later died from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics also transported a 16-year-old and a 20-year-old to Maria Parham Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.

Police have yet to make any arrests in the shooting. They asked anyone with information about the incident, or about where Jones might be, to call the Henderson Police Department at 252-438-4141 or Crime Stoppers at 252-492-1925.
