Henderson plant to close in August

HENDERSON, N.C. — The Purolator plant in Vance County is closing in August, county officials confirmed Saturday.

County Manager Jerry Ayscue said the plant will take 130 jobs from the community. Ayscue said the county will provide assistance to those affected by the closing.

The plant, located in Henderson, manufactures air filters.

Purlator is part of Franklin, Tenn.-based Clarcor, a filter manufacturing conglomerate.
