Posted — UpdatedHENDERSON, N.C. — Eleven fires in Henderson since the beginning of the year are suspicious in nature and are being investigated as possible arson cases, authorities said Monday.
Henderson Fire Chief Danny Wilkerson said the two most recent fires, at vacant houses on Lamb and Lowrey streets, occurred Sunday night. Investigators found that a chemical had been used in both cases to speed the spread of the fires.
The Lamb Street house was also burned on April 27, as was an adjacent house, Wilkerson said.
The State Bureau of Investigation has been called to assist Henderson authorities with the cases.
