She's looking for a place to take her son for his first haircut.

I received this email from a mom, whose son recently turned one. Here's what she wrote:

"Any suggestions on a place for his first hair cut? His hair is getting long and I am clueless about where to go. My salon has a 'no children' policy."

I took both of my girls to JJ's Kids Cuts on Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh for their very first haircuts. It was a convenient location for me - right near my mom's house.

At JJ's, there's an indoor tube slide, kids get to pick a video to watch during the cut and they get to sit in special seats that look like cars. They also had a little package for parents to commemorate the first cut, including a little bag to save that baby curl in.

After that first cut, I took on the job, cutting their hair myself. I started taking my eight-year-old to Supercuts a couple of years ago when her hair got thicker, making it more difficult to trim. But I still do my younger daughter's hair.

I've heard good things about Snip-its in Brier Creek, but haven't been.

Where did you take your kids for their first hair cut? Who cuts their hair now?
