SPRING LAKE, N.C. — Crews looking for Ca'zhia McMillian temporarily suspended their search over the weekend after heavy rain caused water in the Little River to rise – making it unsafe for rescue workers.
A full-scale search for Ca'zhia, 6, will resume once the water recedes, said Maj. Gary McNeill, a spokesman for the Harnett County Sheriff's Office.

Divers, boaters and volunteers on the shore have been combing the waters and riverbanks of the Little River since the girl went missing Tuesday.

McMillian, a first-grader at Anderson Creek Primary School, was playing with a friend on the riverbank when she fell in, her aunt said Wednesday.
