Health officials identify 43 new cases of COVID-19 at long-term care facility in Knightdale

Health officials have identified 43 new cases of coronavirus at the Wellington Rehabilitation and Healthcare facility in Knightdale. The news comes Sunday after the facility had previously reported four cases of the virus, bringing the total up to 47.

Health officials have identified 43 new cases of coronavirus at the Wellington Rehabilitation and Healthcare facility in Knightdale.

The news comes Sunday after the facility had previously reported four cases of the virus, bringing the total up to 47.

WRAL News has been told that 18 of the cases involve patients who are asymptomatic according to the facility.

The other 25 people who tested positive are staff members at the facility.

The first four positive tests that were reported on Friday involved two patients and two workers. The initial two patients who tested positive are the only cases that have led to hospitalizations thus far.

Health officials are still waiting on the results of 21 additional tests.
