DURHAM, N.C. — Authorities issued an all clear Thursday evening after a suspicious packaged prompted an investigation at North Carolina Central University.
Authorities said an envelope containing a white, powdery substance was found Thursday afternoon in the McDougald House on campus. Investigators tested the substance and determined it was bleached flour.
Lawson Street was closed at the intersections of Alston Avenue, Merrick Street and Fayetteville Street as a result of the investigation, but reopened at about 6:45 p.m.
No students were impacted by the incident, university officials said.
