Harris Teeter Super Doubles List

February 17 – February 23, 2010

Harris Teeter will be Super Doubling this week starting Wednesday, February 16. Here are the rules and my take on them:

They will double coupons that are $1.98 or less. For instance, a $1.50 coupon is worth $3.00 doubled and a $1 coupon is worth $2.
They will double up to 20 coupons per day. Period – end of story. Don’t go to different Harris Teeters trying to use your VIC card and get more than 20 coupons Super Doubled per day. The registers are very smart, they know when you have already doubled 20 in a day and the policy is very clear.
They will double up to 3 identical coupons per day. So, if I have 4 coupons for $1.00 off Lyson Wipes, they are only supposed to double 3 of them.
Their BOGO policy is that they will take 1 coupon per BOGO deal and that you are not allowed to use 2 coupons on a BOGO deal (one for each item). Many (but not all) HT’s are fine with you just buying one of a BOGO item and it will ring up at half price and they will let you use a coupon for that one item and it will double. BUT – not all HT’s will let you do this so don’t be surprised if they don’t allow you to use the coupon on 1 of a BOGO deal. YMMV – which means – your mileage may vary. What happens in Vegas…..oh – different saying, sorry. It means that what one HT does another may do differently.
Doubling of coupons that have Do Not Double on them: Since the dawn of couponing time, nearly all stores have doubled coupons that automatically double at the register, even when the coupon indicates Do Not Double. Many internet printable coupons have Do Not Double (also written as DND) on them. As long as the bar code starts with a 5, these coupons automatically double at the register as long as the coupon amount is within the doubling amount the store allows. BUT, most stores also have a policy that they don’t double Do Not Double coupons (but they have been doing it anyway). I tell you this because recently, some stores (mostly HT’s) have stopped allowing these coupons to double automatically. They pull them out of your stack and manually enter then so they won’t double. Am I happy about it? Of course not. Is it their right to not double them? Yes – so too bad for us. Some stores still double these coupons and I very much appreciate those stores. What can we do? Call the manufacturer’s and ask them nicely to stop putting the Do Not Double wording on their coupons.
Additional Advice: Many of the best deals sell out quickly (sometimes by 8:00 am on the first morning). Often, the stores cannot get more of those items in before the sale is over because all the stores want the same items. Don’t depend on Super Doubles to stock up on your groceries for the next year. Use it as a great way to get some good deals, enjoy those deals and don’t stress that they are sold out of items. Unless you get to the store at the crack of dawn the first day (most stores start Super Doubling at 7:00 AM Wednesday) you won’t get everything you want. That’s just the way it is. Complaining to the manager just makes them dread Super Doubles even more and only puts couponers in a bad light. And – there are so many other great deals every day with regular doubles that we have much to be thankful for. I love chatting with the other couponers and sharing coupons during Super Doubles. If you see me in the store, don’t hesitate to say hello!

There are so many good deals this time around and Hot Coupon World (www.hotcouponworld.com) put together a great list of the best buys. Below are many of the deals from their list. Click on the link in the gray box for the complete list. Keep in mind that different areas of the country get different coupon amounts so we may not have all the coupons that were listed.

With most of the deals listed, the top line shows the item and sale price, the next line shows the coupon to use, the date and insert it was in and the price after coupon.

Have fun, enjoy your deals and please post your savings here! I love to see how much everyone is saving!
