CAMERON, N.C. — A Harnett County man has been charged with murder in connection with the killing of his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at their home, authorities said Friday.

Gregory Cole, 30, was being held on a no bond order at the Harnett County jail, where he has been charged with first-degree murder, the sheriff's office said in a written statement.

Authorities were called to a home at 40 Sinatra Drive in Cameron around 10:15 p.m. Thursday night on a report of gunfire.

When they arrived they found Dena L. Luedka, 29, who lived at the residence, suffering from a gunshot wound outside the house.

Authorities said the two were dating and had been living together in the home.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the gunfire.
