DUNN, N.C. — Fire crews are on the scene of a fire at Alphin Brothers on U.S. Highway 301 in Harnett County, officials said.

The building had been scheduled to be demolished in the near future, officials said. Fore crews responded to the building at about 12:30 p.m.

It's unclear what caused the fire.

In 2015, Alphin Brothers was placed on three years of probation for labeling farm-raised, imported shrimp as wild shrimp caught in the United States.

According to court documents, an employee of the food processor encouraged others at the Dunn processing facility to falsely label approximately 25,000 pounds of shrimp later sold to customers in Louisiana.
