RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man's suspicious behavior led police to search a vacant home at 5457 Blue Sage Drive looking for marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a search warrant returned Friday.

The man, who was not identified in the search warrant and who has not been arrested, drew the attention of authorities on July 4 when officers responding to a call from a neighbor spotted his car in the driveway of the home, which was supposed to be unoccupied.

"The driver was very jittery and nervous," wrote Investigator K.S. Scott in seeking the warrant.

Officers handcuffed the man while they searched his car. They found baggies, cash and the odor of marijuana. The man ran, still wearing the handcuffs, but officers tracked him to his grandparents' home.

Scott used the man's actions and officers' observations through the windows of bongs and marijuana to justify the search of 5457 Blue Sage Drive.
