<b>WELDON, N.C.</b> — The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding two suspects accused of firing a weapon into a moving vehicle.

Omar D. Ponton and Vontray Antonia Hughes are charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied moving vehicle and injury to personal property for an incident that happened in Weldon.

Deputies said Ponton is also wanted for probation violation and assault by pointing a gun.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 252-583-8201 or Crime Stoppers at 252-583-4444. Crime Stoppers pays a cash reward for information leading to an arrest, and callers can remain confidential.<br />
