Halifax school employee faces sex charge
A Halifax County Schools employee was charged Tuesday with taking indecent liberties with a minor.

LITTLETON, N.C. — A Halifax County Schools employee was charged Tuesday with taking indecent liberties with a minor.
Joe Edmondson Jr., 56, of Rocky Mount, was involved in an alleged incident at Northwest Halifax High School in Littleton on May 25 that was reported to authorities a day later, Lt. Chuck Hasty said. Details of the allegations weren't released.
Edmondson was the out-of-school suspension coordinator at Northwest Halifax High.
He was given a $2,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court Sept. 14.
