Halifax prison correctional officer stabbed by inmate, authorities say
A correctional officer at Caledonia Correctional Institution in Tillery is in the hospital after being stabbed Thursday night by an inmate, officials said.

HALIFAX, N.C. — A correctional officer at Caledonia Correctional Institution in Tillery is in the hospital after being stabbed Thursday night by an inmate, officials said.
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office is investigating the stabbing, which happened around 6 p.m., according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. The officer's injuries are non-life-threatening.
The officer and the inmate were not identified.
