Halifax deputy hits boy with car

A Halifax County sheriff's deputy hit an 11-year-old boy Friday morning while driving in Roanoke Rapids.

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — A Halifax County sheriff’s deputy hit an 11-year-old boy Friday morning while driving in Roanoke Rapids.

A spokesman for the sheriff’s office said the boy was “fine” following the accident, which happened on 11th Street near Cleveland Street.

The spokesman did not release more information. An investigation is being conducted by Roanoke Rapids police.
