Halifax County father, son charged with assaulting each other
Halifax County authorities arrested a father and son on Sunday and charged them with assaulting each other.

SCOTLAND NECK, N.C. — Halifax County authorities arrested a father and son on Sunday and charged them with assaulting each other.
Deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence on U.S. Highway 258 outside of Scotland Neck and said they learned that a firearm had been discharged.
Deputy Viverette arrested Willie Moore Sr., 78, and Willie Moore Jr., 62. Both are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 20.
The elder Moore was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and was held on a $1,000 bond, officials said. The younger Moore was charged with simple assault and was held on a $500 bond.
