RALEIGH, N.C. — Police spent hours at an apartment complex overnight after two homes were hit by gunfire.

The shootings occurred on Dorothea Drive, just outside of downtown Raleigh.

According to police, a man who said he was shot showed up at WakeMed. Police were called to the hospital around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to speak to the man.

The Breaking News Tracker found several officers checking out a car surrounded by police tape that was parked at the emergency room entrance.

Hours later, police said a woman called 911 reporting a bullet hit her home on Dorothea Drive at the Heritage Park apartment complex.

Police said two homes were hit by bullets, and they believe the man at WakeMed was shot at the same apartment complex. No one else was injured.

Police have not released any information about the shooter.
