A Grifton police officer is due in court Thursday after his arrest on child porn charges.

GRIFTON, N.C. — A Grifton police officer is due in court Thursday after his arrest on child porn charges.
Court records show that Jason Lovick is facing eight counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor in Craven County.
The 31-year-old Lovick was released on bond, WITN reported.
Grifton Chief Bryan Silva says Lovick had only been with the department for 3.5 weeks and as of yesterday he was no longer with the town.
The SBI is investigating the case.
