An officer-involved shooting killed one and injured two others in uptown Greenville early Sunday.

GREENVILLE, N.C. — An officer-involved shooting killed one and injured two others in uptown Greenville early Sunday.

Greenville and ECU police responded to reports of a fight with shots fired near the corner of 5th and Reade Streets around 1:30 a.m.

According to WITN, police say they found a man shooting into a crowd in an alley behind Sup Dogs.

Three officers exchanged fire with the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Chief Mark Holtzman says two others were taken to Vidant, one with serious injuries and one with non-life-threatening injuries.

The three officers have been placed on administrative leave according to police.
