RALEIGH, N.C. — Going to the N.C. State Fair in October? Get in on October 23 for only $2.95 per person with the annual canned food drive and the sale going on this week at Food Lion!

Here's the deal:

October 23 is Food Lion Hunger Relief Day at the N.C. State Fair.  If you bring five cans of Food Lion brand food that day, you will receive one free admission ticket.

This week, through Aug. 5, select Food Lion canned veggies are only 59 cents each. If you buy five cans, the total is $2.95 plus tax. Save the cans of food until Oct. 23 and donate them to the Food Lion Hunger Relief Day at the Fair.  You will get a great price on admission and do a wonderful thing to help out some folks who are struggling.

The regular price of the Advanced Adult Tickets is $7, so only paying $2.95 is a fabulous deal! Remember that folks who are 65 or older and kids who are 5 or under get in to the fair for free every day.  As we get closer to the fair, I will post more suggestions on how to save money.

From the State Fair website: "Food Lion Hunger Relief Day at the Fair is one of the largest one-day canned-food drives in the state, held each year to benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. In the 17-year history of the event, more than 2 million pounds of food have been donated by fairgoers."
