RALEIGH, N.C. — Firefighters battled a blaze at the Gorman Street Hardee's in Raleigh Friday that started as a grease fire.

Firefighters responded to the scene at 2304 Gorman Street just before 8 p.m.

The restaurant was open and both employees and customers were inside the store when the fire started, though everyone was able to make their way out and there were no reported injuries.

The fire was reportedly started by an accidental grease fire in a vent shaft according to an incident report released by the Raleigh Fire Department.

About 40 firefighters responded to the scene, and they were able to knock down the fire in a little under 30 minutes.

The building sustained damage, but it is unclear how severe.
