Gray skies, light rain to linger through weekend following severe storms

Severe storms that pounded the Triangle on Friday night have moved out, but the chance for rain will remain through the holiday weekend.

RALEIGH, N.C.Severe storms that pounded the Triangle on Friday night have moved out, but the chance for rain will remain through the holiday weekend.

The threat for severe weather was over by about 8 p.m. in the Triangle, but light rain is likely to fall, and clouds will dominate the skies for the day Saturday.

Temperatures will cool off overnight, dropping to the mid-40s.

Easter will remain gloomy with overcast skies and a small chance for light rain throughout the day.

Sunday will also be breezy and cool, with temperatures staying in the 60s.

Warm weather and sunshine will return for the work week, with temperatures in the upper 70s on Monday and in the 80s through Thursday.
