It is amazing to have them and some of their family and friends here and the purpose of this event was to recognize them for their outstanding achievement and to let them know how proud we are of them here in north Carolina. Our state had about 45 athletes representing us in the olympics and paralympics in Tokyo and I've grown up loving sports, loving to play sports, loving to watch sports and to get to be the best among the best in your field. Like these olympics and paralympics athletes have done is a remarkable achievement. I've always believed that sports help you in life because when you think about the uh the dedication, the determination, the discipline, the pain that never give up effort that these athletes have had to undergo to be the best in the world. It's an amazing thing and I know that they have been and will continue to be successes in other parts of their life. And so today we wanted to take some time to introduce these great athletes to all of you. I wanted a chance to mill around and meet some of their families and friends and to meet them.
