The FREE Got to Be NC Festival starts today, Friday, May 18 and runs through Sunday, May 20. It is free to get in to the festival and to see the exhibits. There is a charge for carnival rides, games, pony rides, the BBQ cookoff and food from vendors.

This year, you will find live animals, antique farm equipment, fireworks, a homegrown marketplace with food and drink samples and sales, a rodeo, tractor pull, music, magic shows, cooking shows, a trick pony and much more.

We have been to the event many times and it is fun, informative, tasty and entertaining.

Sarah at WRAL's Go Ask Mom put together a helpful article on things to know about the festival, including information about baby pigs!
