RALEIGH, N.C. — A specially-reserved seat surprised customers riding on the GoRaleigh bus Wednesday morning. An honorary seat at the front of the bus was held in her memory, marked with a sign picturing Rosa Parks riding a bus looking out the window.

"Reserved in honor of Rosa Parks," the sign read.

"By not giving up her seat, she helped ensure a seat for everyone. Rosa Parks' actions served as a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement and affirmed that everyone has the equal right to public transportation," the sign read.

"We honor her actions and her bravery."

Bill King snapped a photo of the sign to share on Twitter, writing, "Saw this tribute to Rosa Parks today from GoRaleigh on my bus commute today. Well done."

GoRaleigh made a post about their project on Tuesday morning, saying they were celebrating what would have been Parks' 107th birthday.
