Posted — UpdatedAfter a pattern of humidity and storms, the Triangle is in for a gorgeous new week.
According to WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss, while some storms and rain are possible Sunday, the work week will be sunny and cooler.
"Today, we expect a mixture of blue sky at times, cloud cover at other," said Moss. According to Moss, showers and thunderstorms on Sunday will be "hit and miss," with rain more likely north and east of the Triangle starting in the afternoon.
"We'll go from about a 10 to 15 percent chance of showers this morning to about a 30 percent chance of showers or gusty storms by mid-afternoon around the Triangle," said Moss.
Dew points will drop drastically on Monday, into the 50s, which will make for a milder, less-sticky feel. Little to no rain is expected for the week ahead, until Saturday, when a slight chance for showers returns.
Overall, the week will be bright and sunny, said Moss, and highs will be in the low 80s each day. It will be a great week to spend time outside.
The milder temperatures and decreased humidity come from a cold front that will move through the Triangle overnight, leaving behind a beautiful Monday.
