FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville woman who won $200,000 on a scratch-off lottery ticket said, “I just had the feeling I was going to hit big.”

Brittany Williams was planning to play crosswords tickets, but at the last minute decided on the Carolina Panthers scratch-off game.

She bought her tickets at The Corner Store on Cumberland Road in Fayetteville and started scratching.

“I saw the three zeros and the comma and was like, ‘No, this can’t be,’” Williams said. “I started shaking. I thought I was going to have a heart attack.”

After taxes, Williams took home $141,003, a big return on the $5 she paid for that winning ticket. She picked up her winnings Monday in Raleigh.

Williams said she planned to put her windfall toward a new house.

Three $200,000 prizes remain in the Carolina Panthers game.
