GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A 22-year-old woman was charged with felony child abuse with serious injury after a 2-month-old baby was treated for deep cuts on the face.

Talisha Taylor was also charged with negligent child abuse with serious physical injury.

Goldsboro police said a medical screening showed the baby also had several bone fractures.

Police received a report of possible child abuse on March 16 from the county's Department of Social Services after the baby was taken to Wayne UNC Health Care for the facial cuts.

Taylor remained at Wayne County Jail under a $50,000 bond.
