Goldsboro police identify woman found decapitated, dismembered

Goldsboro police on Wednesday released the name of the woman whose mutilated remains were found last week. The investigation has tentatively identified Heather Diane Stewart, 38, as the victim of that murder.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro police on Wednesday released the name of the woman whose mutilated remains were found last week. The investigation has tentatively identified Heather Diane Stewart, 38, as the victim of that murder.

Tests at the State Medical Examiner's Office and North Carolina State Crime Laboratory will be needed to confirm Stewart's identity, police said.

Willie Lee Langston, 29, of LaGrange, was charged with murder after the discovery of the body, decapitated and dismembered in a driveway on Bright Street. He is being held without bond at Wayne County Detention Center.
