Goldsboro man survives shooting in head

A Goldsboro man is recovering after being shot in the head, police said Wednesday.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro man is recovering after being shot in the head, police said Wednesday.

Goldsboro police said they responded to a 911 call at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday about a man shot in the woods behind 1005 N. Spence Ave. Officers found Ronnie Lee Jones suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Jones was taken to a nearby emergency room, where he was treated and released.

An investigation led to the arrest of Othel Dale Rowe, 44, who was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Rowe was taken into custody at the Irish Inns Motel on Sunburst Drive.

Rowe was jailed in lieu of a $40,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
