GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Wayne County sheriff's deputies arrested Matthew Gordon Williams on rape charges Thursday.
Little information about the case was released. According to the sheriff's office, Williams, 22, of 4220 Stevens Mill Road in Goldsboro, is a suspect in a sexual assault that took place in the western part of the county.
He is charged with statutory rape in which the victim is between 13 and 15 years old. He was held on $500,000 bond.
