ROLLING FORK, Miss. (AP) — Powerful tornadoes tore through parts of the Deep South on Friday night, killing at least 23 people in Mississippi, obliterating dozens of buildings and leaving an especially devastating mark on a rural town whose mayor declared, “My city is gone.”

Shonshi Chavez, 21, of 708 Corporate Drive, is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, second-degree kidnapping, assault on a female and simple possession of marijuana.

<b>GOLDSBORO, N.C.</b> — A Goldsboro man is accused of kidnapping and assault, according to the police.

Chavez was being held under a $1 million bond at the Wayne County Detention Center on Monday.
