Police in Goldsboro are warning businesses to be on the look out for counterfeit $20 bills. They suspect the money is being made and distributed locally.
Posted — UpdatedGOLDSBORO, N.C. — Police in Goldsboro are warning businesses to be on the look out for counterfeit $20 bills. They suspect the money is being made and distributed locally.
To spot a fake, look for security features such as watermarks, security threads and color-shifting ink.
Suspicious bill(s) should be reported to police. The manufacture and distribution of counterfeit money is a federal crime.
Anyone with information about the persons responsible for making, selling or distributing the counterfeit money is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255.
