Aurora. There she is. So your head popping up at the sound of her name, Aurora Princess Aurora happily makes her way through the field at Split Creek Farm. She's two years old and she's pretty spoiled but for Arora life didn't start easy when she was born. Her mother uh was the first time mom and she didn't really know how to care for Aurora and she cleaned her rather aggressively and uh damaged her hoof. Arora spent the first hours of her life in surgery and what we came out with was just a partial hoof and we don't have growth on one side of her hoof as a result of that injury. But Arora learned to adapt at first it was very sore so she couldn't walk on it and then over time she learned to walk on it, but she does compensate. So she throws her leg a little bit further because it doesn't have a good platform to help Arora with walking the farm, went to work looking for a solution and at the end of 2021 Arora was fitted for her first prosthetic hook thanks to a veterinarian at the University of florida. So she didn't really jump and play and kick like you normally see goats. But once she got that prosthetic and got used to it and understood she had a platform, we started to see Aurora run, she would jump and play, she would chase other goats um, and do goat things now two years old. Arora has grown and needs a new prosthetic. What we do is work with the vet to do some 33 D imaging to make sure that everything aligns correctly and then we use her other foot and create the exact same hoof structure on this hook. So he will trim all of this back when he gets to her, gets to see her in a few weeks and he will create a prosthetic that goes right on here. Just a girl in her goat, Sandra, Kaufman, the co owner of the farm, and Arora will travel to florida at the end of the month. We're sort of at a point right now where we think if we put one more prosthetic on and we can get that damaged side of the hoof to grow a little bit more and just maintain it that she could have a semblance of a quasi normal hoof. Once we run this next cycle with the goal that one day, princess Aurora will be running through the field without her prosthetic.

I'm meteorologist K Campbell in the wr a severe weather center. Another day of above normal temperatures as highs climbed into the low to mid eighties. The big difference, the humidity, I am sure you noticed it outside. It's feeling more humid. Dew points were in the upper sixties throughout much of the day. We're going to be in that humid category on the muggy meter through Wednesday and then perhaps actually climbing a bit Thursday ahead of a cold front before we see a huge crash, how humid it feels outside by the time we get to the weekend. So some good news there, the humidity, it's not going to last all the way through the summer. We've got a spring like break ahead for the weekend, but it's feeling like summer during the week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, highs are in the upper eighties to lower nineties with the high humidity and each day does come with a chance for some scattered thunderstorms. So let's talk about that chance. It looks like Tuesday. It's actually early in the morning that we may have the best chance of storms, very icy activity during the afternoon and then perhaps a brief uptick later in the evening. Once we get to Wednesday, this model in particular tends to be overdone two days in advance. But you get the point, some scattered storms develop late in the day. And then Thursday, we don't yet have a high resolution model of data available for. But given that we have this approaching cold front to help lift the air that provides the mechanism of the mechanism for storms to form in the first place. And then it's going to be so hot, so humid that we've got plenty of energy for those storms to strengthen and perhaps become severe. So we're thinking it'll be a bit more widespread. Thursday. There is a level one out of five threat for severe weather, Tuesday and Wednesday. So a low threat and then Thursday, we don't yet have which risk level will be under determined. However, we're in the area already highlighted to be placed under some kind of risk for Thursday forecast rainfall over the next five days, about half an inch to an inch of rain will be possible. Watering forecasts, you can see we've got a chance of storms in through Friday and then I think will be dry during the day. Saturday. There is a small chance of a shower thunderstorm this Saturday night into Sunday morning for Mother's Day. So of course, we'll keep an eye on that for you as you plan ahead for Mother's Day weekend during the week. It's feeling like summer, hot, humid storm chances each day. We've got changes in store for the weekend and lows could dip back down to 50 by Saturday morning.
