Gift Guide: TG Floristry offers classes, shopping
TG Floristry, rightfully named after its owner and founder Tiera George, is a floral experience in downtown Raleigh.
Posted — UpdatedIn the heart of the Moore Square District, you’ll find an inviting nook of sidewalk with magical tea lights and bistro seating straight out of Le Marais in Paris. This is way more than just a convenient spot to grab a bouquet on the go.
Tiera has a teaching background, which informs her unique offerings centered around collaborating with her customers. She hosts private parties and drop-in floral workshops, which do not lack in ambiance. Talented musicians and sweet mimosas usher you into these evening classes, which are more like soirees with old and new friends. You can arrange your own bouquet to take home and her bottomless knowledge on flowers makes you leave feeling like an expert in your own right.
There’s a reason Tiera considers this more of a studio and immersive experience. She also provides a physical space for other local artisans to showcase their work that complements the vibe of TG Floristry. From handmade earrings and delicious candles, this detour can also serve as your one-stop gift destination for anyone on your list. And with all of the supply chain issues and shipping disasters, ‘tis the year for shopping local!
Dazey and I also got a few tips on what goes into creating a dynamic centerpiece for your upcoming holiday parties:
1. Start with thick greenery as your foundation (stems/leaves/etc)
2. Play with textures and mix airy flowers with fuller ones
3. Keep dimensions in mind and include different height flowers
4. Give Martha Stewart a run for her money (OK, we added that in there, but it’s true!)
Seriously though, what’s better than surrounding yourself with beauty around the Holidays -- her wreaths are elegant yet rustic -- and sharing that with your loved ones... AND supporting a phenomenal local business?!
