There is something extra special about a gift made by hand. There’s an extra bit of love included with the time and attention to detail.

When shopping this holiday season, look to local makers, markets and shops that feature handmade gifts. Here are a few handmade holiday gift ideas you can find here in the Triangle, including jewelry, home decor, baby gifts and kids clothing.

Cozy Hangs macrame

What: Handmade custom macrame wall and plant hangs. Macrame is very on-trend right now for your indoor decor. Use it to soften up the walls with texture or bring the outdoors in with a plant hanger. They even have a cozy cat bed hanger!

Mady’s Bling Shop

What: Check out this jewelry made by a 13-year-old in Wendell! Mady started her handmade earring shop during the pandemic. Her shop has taken off, and she sells her handmade creations at local markets.

Where to buy: Various local vendor markets and via Instagram and Facebook

Port & Starbird Creations

What: Hand-made baby booties, burp cloths, teethers, bibs and accessories in the cutest fabrics! I have purchased several items from this cute shop for my own kids and for friends. She also makes custom T-shirt quilts!

Cost: Starting at $10

Where to buy: Look for Port and Starbird at most of the local Triangle Pop-up Markets and inside Bayleaf Market in Raleigh. You can also find her special line of exclusive patterns at the N.C. Museum of Art Gift Shop or order online.

Crown Jules Clothing

What: Adorable clothes for kids of all ages with matching outfits for American Girl dolls. The shop also features apron’s for boys and girls, tote bags and more.
