RALEIGH, N.C. — From the 1984 original to last year's remake, ghost busting has had a powerful presence on the silver screen.

But the business of investigating paranormal activity, isn't just in the movies.

Downtown Raleigh's Mordecai Historic Home is offering a Halloween tour with paranormal activity experts for anyone who has wanted to investigate the paranormal.

"We actually visit sites of alleged hauntings, and we investigate and try to debunk whether or not the location is haunted or not," said Nelson Nauss of the Ghost Guild.

This Halloween, the Raleigh-based Ghost Guild is taking on the Mordecai house—a place where employees say there's high chance of "unexplained activities."

"It's the oldest home in its original location in Raleigh," said Celeste Sherer, assistant director of historic sits at Mordecai Historic Park. "This home is actually older than Raleigh itself."

During the Halloween tour, the Ghost Guild team will be armed with paranormal investigation tools like a device called "the spirit box." Paranormal experts said it sweeps through radio frequencies quickly and allows spirits to communicate if they wish.

The Ghost Guild tour at the Mordecai house is free. People who take the Oct. 28 tour will get a chance to review, debate and debunk their data. Ultimately, though, people are left to draw their own conclusions.
