Get in fair free Thursday with food donation

Thursday is Food Lion Hunger Relief Day at the NC State Fair, and that means free admission for those who bring a non-perishable food donation. Get one free admission for every five cans of food.

All donations benefit the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina and its sister food banks around the state.

Since 2004, fairgoers have donated more than 1.8 million pounds of food. Last year, fairgoers donated more than 214,000 pounds of food which was equivalent to 180,242 meals.
