Gerald Owens relates an experience where clothes and a fancy car failed to keep a couple from judging his character.

<p>I remember one time I was with my brother up in Pittsburgh, he's a doctor of Internal Medicine. We were going to a graduation party, both dressed like I am right now, driving in my brother's very expensive car. We pull up to a light two elderly white people in the car next to us, locked their doors and raise their windows. As soon as we pulled up next to them. We both laughed. But it's it's sad really because people are judging us based on the color of our skin and not who we might be. I think that what you have to remember is it's not you. It's the people who are judging you or who they think you are.</p>
