The "ER" alum leaves his scrubs in the past and puts on a uniform in the trailer for Hulu's "Catch-22," based on the Joseph Heller novel.

Clooney has not appeared in a regular role on television since his five seasons on "ER," the show that launched his film career in the 1990s.

The limited series stars Christopher Abbott as Yossarian, a US Air Force bombardier in WWII who aims to get himself released from duty by any means necessary.

Kyle Chandler and Hugh Laurie also are in the cast.

Clooney and Grant Heslov serve as executive producers. Luke Davies and David Michôd are co-writers and executive producers.
