General public to get crack at 'Hamilton' tickets at DPAC
To get access, people will need to sign up for the Ticketmaster Verified Fan program.

A limited number of tickets will be available for in person purchase at the DPAC box office at 10 a.m. on Aug. 18. No camping out will be allowed. DPAC will be using a wristband lottery to determine places in line. Wristbands will be distributed from 7 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at the plaza west of DPAC. Tickets cannot be purchased by phone.
As with previous cities, there will be a ticket lottery before each performance. The lottery will offer 40 tickets priced at $10 each.
"Hamilton" tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, an orphan immigrant from the West Indies who became one of America's founding fathers. The show's music is a mix of hip-hop, jazz, R&B and rap and the cast is predominantly African-American and Latino actors.
The book, music and lyrics were written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and based on Ron Chernow's biography, Founding Father Alexander Hamilton.
When the play first premiered in 2015, "Hamilton" became a smash sensation, nabbing 11 Tony Awards, a Pulitzer Prize and has sold out theaters all over the country.
