GASTONIA, N.C. — A Gastonia man is in custody after being charged with threatening President Joe Biden.

David Kyle Reeves, 27, of Gastonia was arrested on Feb. 5 and had his first court appearance on Thursday.

According to an affidavit, Reeves contacted the White House switchboard multiple times and made threats against Biden between Jan. 28 and Feb. 1.

On Feb. 1, a Secret Service agent contacted Reeves about the threats.

Agents said that Reeves then called the agent back multiple times throughout the day and again threatened Biden, the agent and others.

The affidavit said Reeves also called the U.S. Capitol police switchboard multiple times and made similar threats after being contacted by the Secret Service agent.
