Gas leak reported in downtown Raleigh

The Raleigh Fire Department responded to a gas leak at the corner of Davie and Wilmington streets in downtown Raleigh Thursday morning.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Raleigh Fire Department responded to a gas leak at the corner of Davie and Wilmington street in downtown Raleigh Thursday morning.

A spokeswoman for PSNC Energy said a contractor cut a 1.25-inch line near a parking deck at 331 S. Wilmington St. shortly before 11:30 a.m.

Crews capped the leak about 15 minutes later.

Nearby intersections were blocked off while crews were responded, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or buildings being evacuated.
