FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A gas leak on Thursday morning in Fayetteville closed Cedar Creek Road near Interstate 95.

The road was closed around 10 a.m. near the Ruby Tuesday on Bureau Drive. Authorities said construction activity in the area hit and broke a 4-inch natural gas line.

The road is closed between I-95 and downtown.

Fayetteville police said Piedmont Natural Gas is working to stop the leak, but there is no timetable to reopen the road.

There are no evacuations.
