Garner police look for bank robber

Police were investigating the robbery of the Fifth Third Bank on U.S. Highway 70 Friday afternoon.

GARNER, N.C. — Police were investigating the robbery of the Fifth Third Bank on U.S. Highway 70 Friday afternoon.

Investigators said that a man entered the bank, at 1145 U.S. 70 West, around 4:40 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller handed him an undisclosed amount of money, and the robber fled on foot.

He was last seen running toward the Timber Drive area.

Police said no one was injured in the robbery.

Witnesses described the robber as a black man in his 40s, standing 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds.

Anyone with information about the robbery was asked to cal police at 91-772-8810.
