Garner police arrest 16-year-old in shooting that injured 17-year-old

GARNER, N.C. — Garner police said a juvenile is in custody in a shooting Wednesday that involved another juvenile.

Police said the juvenile, 16-year-old male, was in custody and the shooting wasn't a random act. The male was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, kidnapping, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.

No further details on the juvenile's arrest was available. An investigation into the case continues.

The shooting happened at Atchison Drive and November Street in Garner on Wednesday. The 17-year-old who was shot suffered a non-life threatening injury from the gunshot wound.
