GARNER, N.C. — Ten Garner homes have been broken into in recent months during the morning hours after residents left for work, police said Tuesday.

The burglaries occurred in the Edgebrook, Forest Hills, Forest Landing, Heather Hills, Southview and Staunton Meadows neighborhoods, police said. Flat-screen televisions, small electronic devices and weapons were stolen in most cases.

The burglars entered at least two homes through unlocked windows, police said, but most of the cases involved breaking through a door or window.

Police urged residents to watch for people or vehicles that usually aren't in their neighborhood and to call 911 to report any suspicious activity.

Anyone with information about the previous break-ins is asked to call Investigator G.E. Davis of the Garner Police Department at 919-772-8810.
