RALEIGH, N.C. — One man died in a motorcycle crash on Friday night at South Saunders Street and the Interstate 40 Exit ramp.

Robert Archie Scott, from Dillon, was charged with failure to yield the right of way and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, according to an incident report.

Scott was driving south on South Saunders Street, according to the incident report, when he attempted to make a left turn toward the I-40 exit ramp.

The intersection is marked and does not allow left turns or U-turns, the incident report states. As the car made a left turn, the motorcyclist collided with the passenger side of the car. The motorcyclist was attempting to go straight through the intersection, according to a sketch from the incident report.

The motorcyclist Patrick Loring Matusie, from Garner, died as a result of the crash, the incident report states.

Alcohol was not a factor in this crash, the report said.
